| | L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. Memorable food cooked in an open kitchen. It's at the MGM Grand. Chef Robuchon's Mansion is there as well...but I had neither the dress nor the resources to eat there. As it stands my wife and I walked out of L'Atelier tip, tax and bill $350 later. I wanted to explore other venues, but I was there for a friends wedding so most of my times was spent with that....so I had to pick just one place to hit and I picked a winner. |

| | Check out http://www.yelp.com/lasvegas for some very detailed reviews. Are you looking for a fine dining experience where money is no problem or just a good dinner after a show?
If you are on a budget, Rosemary's Restaurant is consistently wonderful and much more reasonable than anything you will find in a casino. Or check out Firefly, which is just behind the strip and serves great tapas and sangria.
For a high-end meal: Robuchon, Guy Savoy, Alex and Restaurant Charlie (Charlie Trotter's new place).
Beware the high volume, very expensive places like Carnevino and Michael Mina.

| | Don't discount the buffets in Lost Bagels. Many are very good values, some offer excellent food. We always hit a buffet or two when in town ... there are plenty of reviews on line.

| | Last time I was there we tried a fun place called Hash House a Go Go. Their slogan was "Twisted farm food." They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We did dinner. They had stuff like Fried Chicken and Waffles and Hammered Pork Tenderloin. I remember big piles of Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and the Fried Green Tomato Stack for an app was good too. Here's there web site. /// Hash House a go go | Twisted Farm Food /// |

| | viva las vegas hotels not come off as a hotel shill but the Pho restaurant @ TI was very good. Just a few nights ago, I had the beef stew bowl with rice noodles and it was great. Braised Beef brisket chunks with a rich flavorful ginger broth, almost like my grandmother's. Their Vietnamese spring rolls weren't bad though small. |

Each bowl would be equal to say 54oz almost filled to the top for under $10/bowl, almost as cheap as eating at 1 of my favorite Vietnamese noodle places at my home Chinatown. I think its relatively new and crowds aren't very and Asians like myself are the primary customers. The space is shared with their coffee shop.
I'm currently at McCarran not wanting to go back home yet. |
