Hm, Baton Rouge? Sorry to hear that. Not a ton of great places, but then again, I just drove through Baton Rouge on my trips from New Orleans to Lafayette.
If you will not be in the New Orleans area, you should check out Galatoire's Bistro in Baton Rouge. It was opened right after Katrina as a sister restaurant to Galatoire's. My parents have been there and really enjoyed it, and Galatoire's is one of my favorite restaurants in NOLA.
I think I just saw an article about it, maybe in this month's Southern Living?
