| | diners, drive-ins and dives MIAMI STYLE hey guys and gals
headed to miami next week with my wife to see her family and i was wondering if you could gimme some of your favorite diners, drive-ins, dives type places down there. We seem to eat at the same places when we go down to MIami. I'm looking to be able to make better suggestions this trip.
my MIL basically eats chicken, so pleasing her can sometimes be a challenge but the rest of us eat anyting...and i love trying new things!
and heck if you cant think of these kind of places, i'd love to hear about your fav italian joint. My wife and I will prolly take a night out just ourselves... |

| | I don't know very much about Miami, but there have got to be some killer little mom & pop cuban joints everywhere. Start checking the net for some suggestions on those places. I believe Anthony Bourdain wrote an article on out-of-the-way cuban joints a few years back. Try to find that article, the places sounded great. Sorry, I don't remember the magazine I read it in. |

| | In North Miami Beach on 117th st if I remember was a place called Wayne Arnolds Royal Castle and they did some of the best greasy sliders and home made Birch Beer, my Dad would pick up a box on Friday nights for dinner when I was a kid. They were AWESOME.
Try Little Havana for REAL Cuban on 127th and Biscayne, its been there for about 35 years and is great.
In NMB there is a package store called Flannigans on like 129th and Biscayne and they have a restaurant in the back that served the best smoked fish dip I have ever had, hands down.
Ill call a couple of friends that are still down there to see what is happening and get back later. Its been about 4-5 years since I was last in Miami even though ALL my family still lives there, I just REFUSE to go...

| | Don't know if you like Indian, but there's a restaurant called Heelsha, on 163rd Street in North Miami. Best Indian Food I've ever had, and I've had tons! | |
