| Hey everyone.. I ran across this site thru another one, started looking around and really enjoyed it. I am always looking for new recipes to try out. But there is one BIG BIG reason I am out on the search for what I grew up knowing as Chocolate Chip Torte. Sounds simple.. but I have yet to find a recipe for it. I am not even for certain if that is truely what it was. My grandmother made it for my uncle (who hated cakes) every year for his birthday. I do not remember what kind of crust it had, but it was egg based very light fluffy, creamy, sweet and full of mini chocolate chips. She passed about 10 years ago, and do to the dys***tional family, I was not allowed to get any of her recipes or even copy them. I am out on a serious hunt now. Sorry for rambling and spelling errors for that matter of fact!! LOL Hope to talk to you all soon!!! Always Looking ![]() |

| Hi AlwaysLooking! Welcome to Chef Talk. We're glad you like the site. There's something for everyone, especially those who are looking for ideas to learn and share. Stop in at the Pastry and Baking forum and maybe someone there can give you a clue on finding the recipe you seek. I'm a former Illinoisan myself- nice to have you here. Mezzaluna
