Smile New Career

This is my first day on this site. I have been reading everything possible about the culinary field for few years now. My research began when I realized that a career change would be good (after 20 years of hairdressing). My love for food and cooking has led me to research the possibility of a culinary career. I am almost 40, so this type of change is a little scary for me. I have read alot of messages/articles about the horror stories of the culinary world (no life outside of this back breaking, sweat making, spine growing work), but still feel a tug in my heart to give it a shot. Any advice would be great.

Stop in at the Culinary Students' forum to share and learn from other aspiring chefs. Hang out at the professionals' forums to learn how the pros handle everything from broken sauces to malfunctioning equipment.

We hope you'll enjoy it! Stop in often.
