Default Greetings from Maine

Hi! My name is Sarah. I am 26 years old and a stay at home mother. I love to cook! I started cooking when I was 16 after watching Julia Child make a French omelet. It was like magic! I was hooked. I have had to teach myself over the years. My mother never cared for cooking unless it involved a box mix! I plan on opening a bakery / cafe after my children have grown a bit. I love to make pastries and cakes like what you would find in a European bakery. My husband was stationed in Germany for the past 5 years with the military. We loved the foods there. I bought as many German cookbooks as I could afford! The most interesting thing I have ever cooked was a specialty cookie only made in Rothenburg Germany called Schneeballen. I had to buy a special cooking tool made just for the purpose. I look forward to learning more techniques from this wonderful site and to meeting all of you.
