Who I am and Why I'm here I'm an eager, experienced, but definitely not professional cook. I'm in my early 60s, work as a technical consultant, and have been cooking since I was a boy. Back in my younger days, I spent some time editing cooking pages for newspers and wrote some restaurant reviews. I'm a decades-long member of a wine tasting group and enjoy visiting wineries. In addition to the usual sorts of cooking, I like developing recipes as well as making some of the basics that one can buy: sausage, beer, vinegar, etc. I'm fascinated by the science of cooking as well. I found this site while trying to solve a cooking problem and hope to learn from and contribute to it. |
