Unhappy I guess I am a real newbie...

I'll introcude myself as well as ask a question if you don't mind...

I am a 44 year old that has recently started over in life and has found that he likes cooking. I do have friends that fancy them selves somewhat less than helpless in the kitchen. I think that also includes me since I occasionally cook meals for them and they say they like the things I make... Gotta tell ya though... they are guys, and as long as I cook with beer or wine then they love anything I cook.

Anyways, One of my friends made this dsih that he called Brioche, which I have learned is not the correct name.

It consisted of thinly sliced beef round steak and then he made a stuffing type mixture and spread it on the steak and the rolled them up and baked it. Does anyone have a clue what it really is called? I'd like to find some additional variants to this recipe...

You had BRESAOLA, a dish from the Lombardy region of Italy.

Traditionally, the beef is thin sliced, air-dryed and salted, and then served with olive oil and lemon juice.

Bragiole and farsumagru/farsumaru are other names for the same dish.

My ex's Sicilian Grandmother used to make this with a bread stuffing and italian sausages. To die for!!!!! She would also give us a big piece o' homemade fudge cake. In the long run it's probably a good thing she's my "ex" her Grandmothers cooking would have killed me years ago! And I would have gone with such a smile.....
