Cool Hey Ya'll

Thought I'd throw that Paula Deen on you since I live in the south. I've been a caterer for 15 years and a recent grad of Johnson & Wales. Figured I'd been faking it as a cook all this time maybe school would be of some benefit. I learned a good bit but don't think it was worth the money. For the past 6+ years I oversee the backstage catering at different venues. I've fed the gamet from Tony Bennett to Ozzy Osborne to Dave Chapelle. I prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and stock dressing rooms and tour buses. I love food, cooking, and music, so this is the greatest job for me. I get to meet interesting people from all over the world and get to see a free concert (at least part of it anyway). It can be stressful and very long hours but it definately isn't stuffy. I look forward to learning more from all of you and getting some help and ideas along the way. Cheers-Melissa

Hey there, Melissa! We're glad you found us and hope you enjoy participating in this community. Besides these forums we also have cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes and an e-newsletter. If you're looking for something but don't see it in a current thread, try using the search feature here.

It sounds like you have the best of both worlds for yourself- music and food. I hope you're keeping autographs and photos, because you'll have a wonderful document to share with family and friends.

Enjoy the board! C'mon back often now, y'all!

Regards,
Mezzaluna (who lives in the southern part of her state)
