Default Completely new start... yikes!!

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to know if there was anyone out there with some experience in being a private chef in a new country before. To be more exact, I recently moved to Crete, Greece and would like to continue my career as a chef. More as a private chef than catering. Difficult as the Greek food is so predominant here. They don't have much experience yet in other types of cuisines. So anyway, has anyone been through similar??
Thanks!!
Domy

Yasu, Domy- I loved visiting Greece and found, to my astonishment, that the Greek food I'd eaten in the U.S. by home cooks was better-prepared than that in the homeland. Of course that was 26 years ago!

I would suggest you ask your questions on catering in the Professional Catering forum and also in the other Professional Chefs' forums. Many of us are familiar with Greek flavors and ingredients. I'll bet you'll hear some good suggestions for morphing those into something new yet not too unfamiliar for your clients.

Browse the site and enjoy all there is here, and come back often.
Regards,
Mezzaluna
