Hello. Am new to forums in general, this is the first one I have joined. The internet has proved to be a terrific resource for learning about cooking and for a recipe junkie it is paradise. I am looking forward to benefiting from other peoples experiences and sharing my own. I am 52 years old, married to a firefighter, he is the one who eats my cooking because I have to watch my weight. He is much more adventureous than I am, cooking for myself would be boring because I don't like so many things, like anchovies, mushrooms, cream cheese, sour cream etc; I am a food wimp. But Mike loves everything except cooked carrots, so I get to enjoy the cooking and his eating.

Hello Jane and welcome to Chef Talk. We visited your beautiful countryside last fall and my niece is going to school there. It's definitely a place on our "return to" list.

I'm a home cook too. There's plenty here for us to learn and enjoy: the forums, cookbook reviews, recipes and cooking articles. Use the search tool to find earlier conversations on topics you're looking for. Takea look at the Special Guest forums too- although they're locked to new posts, they're a rich source of information as well.

What do you enjoy cooking? I'm fairly eclectic in my food interests myself but tend to do the savory more than the sweet.
