Default Hello from Utah

Hello all, I figured I had better begin by being a compliant member of society and posting a quick introduction about myself.

I've been lurking on the forum for the last several hours, and am extremely impressed with what I've seen. The only mention of canned soup was in the form of a joke, and the majority of the members seem to have a phenomenal grasp of grammar. I love it here already!

I'm Avery, 24 years old, and a slave to the technical industry (eBay Inc., to be exact). My husband and I are expecting our first baby (a boy!) next spring. I love food, cooking, food, cook books, food, and food. I firmly believe that every person who has ever loved me has loved me initially for my cooking. I love cooking for others, and take an appropriate measure of pride in my coworkers' frequent pleas for "this dish for the potluck" or "another batch of those cookies."

Aside from all things food, I'm a technology geek (computers and video games), an indie rocker, and my house is full of Lego. I love to watch movies on my little wall-mounted LCD in my kitchen while I cook. I fancy myself to be some sort of a writer, what sort has yet to be defined.

That's me in a nutshell. Any questions, feel free to ask. I'm off to explore some more!

Hello Avery, and welcome to Chef Talk. I admire your love of good grammar, being a retired teacher. Several of us are sticklers in that respect.

All of us are culinary enthusiasts, whether from a professional position or from our home kitchens (as you and I do).

Explore the site, enjoy the forums and other features, and visit often. We'll look forward to your participation.

Regards,
Mezzaluna
