| I am new to this site. I came across it looking for an equivalent. I have a recipe that calls for a cake of yeast. I have fast acting dry yeast. I do not know how much a cake of yeast weighs or how it compares to dry yeast. I do know the equivalent of my yeast to a package of yeast. So, if by chance someone could let me know how many packages of yeast equal a cake of yeast, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!! ![]() |

| Jessica, I'm pretty sure if it's the little fresh yeast cakes 1/2 oz.. If you use 2 to 2 1/4 teaspoons of dry yeast to each cake you'll be ok. I think they also make a 2 oz. cake. Pan I only know cake yeast to be fresh, This can be different outside the US. HTH |
