Chef Hello from Landusky Montana

Hi everyone. I thought I would stop in & introduce myself!
I am a pastry chef who lives on a working cattle ranch where we raise beef cattle & raise quarter horses. I have a small catering business & bakery which is still in it's infancy (2.5 years now).
My interests are; baking of course, sugar pulling & sculpting, plated desserts & hot line cooking also. For non-kitchen interests... I train dogs & horses, though not as much as I used to. I spend more time in the kitchen of late ! I also enjoy any type of craft, woodworking, quilting, et al.
I am married to a cowboy & have 3 grown kids & one granddaughter, Emma, who is the cutest baby on earth. (I'm allowed to say that since I'm her Grandma! ) We live in the middle of no-where so everything I make needs to be delivered for the most part. Anyone else from Montana can understand the trials & tribulations of delivering cakes & such on our gravel roads! Even the paved ones leave a lot to be desired!
I am currently also writing a series of cookbooks for a wholesale food company & another cookbook that will contain generations of family recipes from my own family.
In my former (professional) life I was a police officer & EMT. Glad I'm not in that anymore as times have surely changed. Unfortunately not for the better.
I just celebrated my 50th birthday last Thursday & am coming to grips being a 1/2 century on this earth!
I hope to make some new friends here & learn new things. Hopefully I can share some inciteful info also!
I want to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday & a prosperous busy new year!

Thank you very much!

I got a chuckle out of your signature quote... I always told my kids just about the opposite... We always said, "It's better to ask permission than to have to beg for forgiveness."
Thanks again!
