Confused Allo !

Just wanted to say hello! I am new here; you know the story, cubical robot looking for a career change. I think about food/recipes when I'm awake and while I am sleeping. Currently I am looking for a prep job in a nice, but small restaurant, and also researching Culinary Schools for a tentative new start in fall 2008. That is it in a nutshell.

This forum has been pretty informative so far.

Ciao for now. =)

Welcome to Chef Talk, JoaneeBonee! You're probably the fourth new person here this week who wants to run screaming from an IT job. Hmmmm- someone could write a paper on that and tell us why!

This is a great place to learn, share and have a few laughs. There's so much here to keep you busy and amused.

Enjoy!

I do have cool coworkers which help the days go by, but I can't stand the stuff I am doing. My last few jobs in Finance were horrible. I have definitely learned that a financially rewarding job isn't all that matters. I think most people leave office jobs because they are 1) bored as **** 2) don't feel like they are contributing to the world 3) office *****/robot 4) no passion.

I really feel that cooking is instant gratification!

You've got that right! Cooking has always been a source of pleasure for me, and more pleasure from seeing how people enjoy my cooking- even the simple dishes.
