Default hello from a Virginia cook

I'm new to this . . . I've cooked since childhood and always been into the history of food and cooking; I taught cooking and catered to movie crews in California, I farmed in South Dakota for 8 years, I've taught African American foodways and 18th and 19th century rural life for the past twenty years in Virginia. Still there is so much to learn!

Welcome to Chef Talk, India House! Ken's right- this is a wonderful place to hang out. "Renaissance" people like yourself will find much to enjoy, share and learn here. We hope you make yourself at home in the forums, take a look at the cooking articles, cookbook reviews and recipes, and dive into our current discussion with Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page.

Enjoy! We'll look forward to your participation.
Regards,
Mezzaluna

You're just up the road from us here in Colonial Heights. (Well a little more than "just" hehehe.) Actually took a trip up there on Monday. Ya'll have the closest Wholefoods to us here. Needed s certain items that only they have. Had to do the "Bulk" purchase since a 176 mile round trip visit is not gonna happen all too often.

Actually our local Ukrops is really good for many things and heard a rumor we're getting a HarrisTeeter soon.

Look forward to the posts too.

Welcome to the forum. I am fairly new as well but from what I have read so far this seems like a great place for information.
