Red face Food for thought

I think alot about food, and now my husband and I are taking our 1st tiny steps into eating stuff that didn't come out of a microwave; we're starting out with frying, as you can see here:

How do you make McDonald's-type fries?

I look forward to learning from all of you!!

Hello Omni! CookieJim is right- there is a lot here to help you. If you don't see what you're looking for in the recent forum threads, use the search tool to zero in on the topic you're looking for. We've had many people come here to learn and find they have food lore and experiences to share, too! Everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Browse through the forums and enjoy. I think your best bets for reading and posting will be the general forums. Of course, you are free to enjoy reading the professional forums as well, but I think your quest for solid basic information will be fulfilled in the general forums, cooking articles, cooking glossary, cookbook reviews and recipes features (see the top of the page). We have a forum dedicated to cookbooks, so you might have a look around there and do as CookieJim did: find a book you like, then experiment with that 'train of thought' for a while.

I hope you visit often to learn and share. We'll look forward to your posts!
Regards,
Mezzaluna
