Default Hola a todos!

Hey everyone!

So I came across this website not too long ago, and it really helped me review for an interview that I had recently to be a cook haha. Right now I'm in the middle of a week long orientation, I hope it'll be a nice experience. I'm very interested in learning about the food management and restaurant business. So far I've only managed a fast food joint, but I really want to be able to manage a gourmet restaurant someday. One of the main reasons I chose this profession is the chance to travel. I've hopped on board with a company that allows me to travel within the company, and get to see all the great resorts and tourist attractions. I know it'll be very hard, working fast food was pretty though the first time around, but I really want to learn, cook, and see what this country has to offer. Heck this company even has some cruises available from other countries that I could even transfer to.

Hopefully I can meet some great online friends here, and maybe even run into you in the real world during my travels. I'm 22 years old and I've been through many different majors and careers and I've excelled in almost all of them, but I found that I did all of those things for all the wrong reasons. So here I am trying to make myself happy and returning to a business that was hot, sweaty, full of frustration, and insane amounts of mental math. But hopefully I can make this somewhat planned 10 year journey very memorable!

This has been a very hard step for me for a lot of reasons, I feel being 22 years old I felt I've lost a lot of years of training (but meeting a few Pro Chefs that started near my age made me feel better) and this career is something that I want to do for myself which has been completely unheard of for me. I really hope you all will work with me and help me along with this new change in my life. I'll be creating a web blog soon about it so I can post up pictures and write in my thoughts and suggestions for people just starting out like me. And if you have a place for blog posts like that maybe I can post them here too. Anyways I'm going to go explore this site some more now, and get ready for my final days of orientation this week. I'm also going to ask my supervisor or executive chef if I'm allowed to write journals about the company or not. Hopefully I can mention their names soon because its really bothering me haha.
