Default Hello from the Pacific NW

My name is Kate and I live outside of Seattle, WA. I have always liked to cook but previously have felt it more of a chore (probably because of three kids running around/full time job/et ).

I have recently discovered a new spark for cooking and especially baking. I'm really trying to replace the stuff we have made from boxes and premade mixes in the past with homemade versions.

I have grand dreams of a bakery one day - who knows!?

It's nice to be here.

Welcome to Chef Talk, Bradygrrl! This is a great place to expand your culinary horizons and knowledge. Have a look at the cooking articles, cookbook reviews, forums, recipes, archives and the photo gallery- there's a lot of information and some fun, too! The search tool can help you zero in on topics. Browse around and post your questions.

You're not alone in wanting to turn from mixes and processed foods to more healthful, simple cooking. In your part of the country, I know, it's a popular way to look at eating and preparing food. Are there good farmer's markets in your area? If so, what do you look for there?

We hope you stop in often to learn and share, and we'll look forward to your participation here.

Welcome!
Mezzaluna
