| Hi, I'm obvisiously new. Well, to the board, and cooking too. (Technically baking - I'd much rather make a seven layer chocolate torte over tuna tar tar anyday.) Located in northern Connecticut, I spend my days locked in an office, so I'm really only in the kitchen a few hours during the week and an occassional weekend. Basically all self taught, I enjoy just trying things out (trial and error, I guess). I'd love to learn sugar scuplting... Very excited to see what I can learn here. Regards |

| Hello and welcome to Chef Talk. It's amazing how much you can learn through the "hunt and peck" method- I do a lot of that myself! I just wish I'd had this place in my earlier days when I made a lot of really bad mistakes in the kitchen. At least no one else was harmed! By exploring the forums, recipes, cookbook reviews, cooking articles, archives and photo gallery, you can pick up a lot of knowledge here. I'm sure you have a lot to share with everyone here as well! Soon you'll be able to post photos of your baking successes. In the mean time, troll through the gallery and enjoy viewing the works of the professionals and home cooks here.
