Default Hello from the drought ridden south!

Just saying hello from NC! Look forward to picking up tips and talking about food and cooking.

My name is Callisto, Cali if you want, I live in the Charlotte area of NC and I don't get to cook like I used to before moving here. I used to work at a pub in California but pubs like where I worked don't exist here (at least not that I've found). I'm back to working in an office and playing with food on the weekends. I look forward to being here.

What I like too cook with and what I can are two different worlds. My specialty is coming up with "single mom dishes" which is basic ingredients, made into things that a teen will eat, that taste good, but don't cost a whole lot. Of course, I would prefer to have all the fresh ingredients, quality meats, and a great pantry, but for now, it's great food on a single mom's budget.

I'm also pretty much a try anything once gal. If it doesn't work, you just don't cook it again but if it does, you've got a go to recipe for life.
