Smile New Today! Cupcake Questions ...

Hiya!

New today .. glad to be here! I'm anxious to post a question in another forum area, but guess I need to post here first.

I'm an artist in Upstate, N.Y. ... LOVE baking .. especially cupcakes, and just created a new product that I'm very excited about.

I won't mention it here, since that would be against rules ... but am anxious to ask about it later.

I do have a few questions about cupcakes though:

All the ones in the bakeries around here are TOO sweet, so I've started making my own. I have the 'cake' part down pat .... but still experimenting with frostings/toppings.

I LOVE whip cream of course ... for my own use .. and some family occasions, but it's not practical for many times. I'd love some ideas of a less-sweet topping or frosting if you have any. Wanna share?

Great to meet you all, and hope to make new friends soon.

Huggles,
Cakey

Hello Cakey and welcome! Your enthusiasm will be infectious, I'm sure.

As you can see by scanning the list of forums, we have two baking forums which would be good spots to post your questions about cupcakes. Because they are so popular, I'm certain others would be happy to read a conversation about them, which you can start in a baking forum (either the professional one or the general one for home cooks).

Of course there's a lot more here for you to discover, and we hope you enjoy every moment visiting and participating here.

Welcome!
Mezzaluna

Hi Mezzaluna!

Thanks so much for the welcome!

I've tried posting in the 'professional pastry chef' area and am told that I have to post 5 posts first ... just not sure WHERE I'm suppose to post those 5? I've posted one here ... but where else can I safely post?

Or do I have to 'reply' to posts to count?

Thanks!
Cakey

You can start a thread (as you did this one). Or, you can reply to posts (as you're doing here). You should be able to post in the General Baking and Pastry forum too. I wasn't aware there was minimum posts restriction on the professional forums (besides the general request that only professionals post there- but everyone can read, of course).

Let us know if you have a problem after you've posted five times. The administrators been making some changes in the board to fend off spamming attacks, so maybe that's the reason.

Thank you ... yes, I think it's the professional forums only, because I posted in the general 'pastry' forum today. :-)
