Default Greetings from Vancouver..

Hi there, my name is Allan, and I live Downtown Vancouver, Canada... the greatest city on earth, but not my favorite. That would most definitely have to be Paris.

I have 37 years of culinary experience ~ mostly eating, and my main preferences are French food, more specifically the Provence region, however... I love many of the foods offered from the Northern Mediterranean areas.

I love cooking, and creating my own dishes, and I look forward to learning more about food.

Welcome, Allan. I am in Washington State, smack dab in between the two Vancouvers. I'm glad you clarified. Whenever people say "Vancouver" I always have to ask them "which one?"

Then again, same thing for Washington. Whenever people hear 'Washington', they think D.C...like where the U.S. President lives. We are on the other coast.

How did you develop your interest in food? Did you learn at home or from world experiences?

We hope you visit often and join in the discussions whenever you can, and will look forward to seeing you here often.

Thank you both for the welcome.

I pretty much developed a love for food out my basic need for survival...

Until recently I was a professional photographer, and I have had the good fortune to visit all of the worlds continents with the exception of one. I found that I really enjoyed the French food the most, the style of cooking, even the way they eat the food. I have been to Paris twice, and I have also spent 3 weeks in the south of France, mainly in Provence.

Now that I am spending more time at home, I am really enjoying cooking for friends and family.
