Post Hello from Belgium

Hello all,

I'm here for a few weeks now, reading your post and would like to indroduce myself.

I'm 26 year old girl, from Brussels in Belgium, native french speaking. I'm currently working in finance but my dream would be to change career and work in the food field.

I've been surounded by food and cooking all my (short) life and I started an application to get into culinary school in the US !

I hope to enjoy this forum and appologies in advance if I make mistakes in english but it's not my first language

Elodie

Bonjour et bienvenue, Elodie! Ma française est rouillée- very, very rusty. So have no fear about your English! Our members come from all over the world, and for many here English is the second, third or even fourth language.

We are delighed to extend a warm welcome to you here at Chef Talk. Belgium is a country I visit whenever I can. I have many especially happy memories of visiting Brussels, Bruges and Gant.

In what are you most interested about cooking? Are you eager to work with bread and pastry or savory dishes? We have cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, the photo gallery- and yes, the forums for discussions.

Please visit and participate often! We look forward to your posts.

Regards,
Mezzaluna

Bonjour Elodie! Ma mere vient de Gent, et comme toi, je travaillais dans les finances avant de poursuivre une carriere gastronomique. Quelle coincidence! Welcome to Cheftalk, a nice place to come home to wherever you are.

I don't speak French, but I do know chocolate and beer from Belgium. I am sure the cuisine is fantastic. Welcome to you!

Hi,

Thanks for your warm welcome !

I'm interested in every aspect of cooking, I make a lot of pastry (macaron for the moment). But I really enjoy to discover new products avec fresh stuff from the market ! I love asian cooking, particularely thai and viet. I'm also a sushi addict !

And yes... Belgian chocolate is one of the best and i never get tired of eating it...
