Hello Chef1 and welcome to Chef Talk. We hope you visit often to get the most out of the information provided here and from interacting in the forums.

What is your menu like? Do you feature local ingredients or cuisine?

Enjoy!
Mezzaluna

Hi Mezzaluna,

Our menu is quite a mix of various different cuisines (french, asian), we use as much local produce as is possible. we are now coming to an end of a fairly busy christmas.

Whats your menu like?

Chef1, I'm a home cook who grew up in a household learning from an adventurous home cook- my mother. In the early 1960s, when people in the American Midwest just didn't cook "ethnic" cuisine, she was making stir fries, Greek dishes and Latin food. Casserole dishes with pasta and canned soup were the more typical home cooking at the time (lots of processed food ingredients). I lived in a college dormitory with students from all over the world so I learned from them as well. My home menu runs from home-style French and Italian cooking to traditional Eastern European Jewish food (my own culture), Asian food and whatever I can sneak past my husband.

Participating in this community has greatly increased my confidence to try new dishes and techniques. (It's also increased the money I've spent on good equipment! ) Further, I have a much deeper appreciation of what professionals go through to learn their profession and to work in the culinary world.
