| Hi there! I'm Nancy a pastry chef. I started making cakes when my children were babies (now in their 30s) yikes! Time flies by and I have been pulled along with the flow. I owned a patisserie in Springfield IL, Worked in Chicago for 15 years as a pastry chef. Then ran the kitchens of a girls school in Memphis for 2 years. And now I am in Sunny, lizard and snake infested Florida (shuddering!) Seriously this area is heaven except for the reptiles and humidity. I'm now working at an old Florida Inn that is on a heavenly island on the Gulf. I'm so happy to find this forum and look forward to getting to know you all better. ![]() |

| Welcome, Nancy! We're you added yourself to the community. I'm sure you have tons of experience to share with us. We hope you will in both the professional pastry forum and the general one (for us home bakers and cooks). We hope you'll enjoy browsing all the site has to offer, and that you participate as often as time allows. We'll look forard to it! Regards, Mezzaluna (Just curious: would you be on Sanibel? I know there are historic inns on both Sanibel and Captiva islands. If memory serves, the inn I'm thinnking of on Sanibel is Casa Ybel. I have family in that area as well. Feel free to ignore this query if it's not wise for you to answer. )
