Hi from the Fat Lady

This is my first experience with this kind of thing and I am SOOOO excited. I guess I will tell you a little about myself. I am a wife of 37 years, a mother of 4, a mother-in-law to 2 and a grandma to 1 (and 1 on the way). I have loved to cook since I was 9 years old. Currently, I am owner and operator (the cook, the business manager, sometimes the dishwasher, or whatever) of my own very successful catering business in a small rural town in the Ozarks. When we started this venture most people laughed at us (at the time there were 3 of us but the other 2 have since retired). They thought we were crazy and it wouldn't take off. I am crazy. But, those same people who laughed then are now enjoying my cooking whether it is from my catering menu or from the Tea Room we opened 2 1/2 years ago. I also love to decorate cakes. I am still learning but love the challenge. I am doing 2 Busch Stadium 3D groom cakes in a couple of months. It should be interesting because I am a perfectionist. I will do it till I get it right. That should take some long nights. I do almost everything from scratch, including our yeast breads. I am always looking for new recipes to adapt for my catering or tea room menus. I am gluten intolerate. So I have to have other people taste anything new and let me know what needs to be done. It is hard but it seems to work.
