Default G'day/Privet/Hi

Hi all, normally I am less polite, and lurk a bit before piping up.
Just a quick Hi, and very keen on anything new, contemporary, fusion, or a bit different to the usual yada yada.

Nice to be here, and hope to see you all throughout the fora

regards
chef povarr

Hello Chef Povarr and welcome to Chef Talk. I think you're our first member from Kazakhstan, so be prepared for people to be interested in your cuisine and local ingredients. Since our members are from all over the world, I'm sure you'll find information to add to your quest for fusion of cuisines.

We'll look forward to your participation here, and hope you explore the site. Welcome!

Hi Mezzaluna,
Thanks for the welcome.
You look like the official welcomer from a glance down the newbies list?

I am actually an Australian NZ hybrid (a mongrel, some would say), but I am working in Almaty, Kazakhstan since the start of June 07, so that makes it almost 8 months.
There are a few interesting things here - this is definitely Central Asia, but being ex Soviet Union / CCCP, it is almost 100% Russian in culture, language, etc.
Some of the local foods are great, and others...........let's just say for the developed palate.

Prior to that I was in Dubai, where there is almost zero culture, but incredible growth, development and amazingly massive world class projects across almost all facets of man made endeavours.

Always happy to share what I know, and greedily devour anything that I dont.

btw love your signature.
I tried it with my wife. I am still nursing a black eye and a tender groin.
next time I'll beg permission first. (she's a chef too)
