Default Greetings from San Diego, CA!

Hi all, I'm here to learn some cooking tips. I run an online cooking show that has a half comedic half educational approach. I am not a professional chef by all means, but I do love the culinary arts. I'm looking forward to reading the forums.

Hey Caleb, welcome to Chef Talk. I had a quick look at your site- , and I can tell you're going to like it here. That tilapia dish looked delicious, fast and light.

How did your love of food and cooking develop?

Have a look at the forums (the search tool will make this easier), cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, photo gallery and the blogs. There's plenty here to amuse you and to expand your horizons, too. I hope we see you here often.

Enjoy!
Mezzaluna

Thanks for the warm welcome Mezzaluna. Hmmmm, I'd say my love for cooking developed during a stint of unemployment about a year ago. Since I couldn't afford to buy my lovely fast food (not so lovely now) I was forced to learn to cook. I'm glad I was forced cause I found a new hobby that I never thought existed. I think I am so attracted to cooking because I enjoy the arts. Whether it be music, film, canvas art, sculpting, stage acting..etc., etc. I’ve always wondered why they called cooking “the culinary arts”. Then I started to cook. It truly is an art…and what’s best…you eat your masterpiece.

Welcome Caleb3000!! My husband is a huuuuggggeee San Diego Chargers fan. It's best not to even touch that subject right now. I am writing from cold and snowy Pennsylvania. I have been to San Diego many times and loved it everytime. Glad to hear from you. Mpeirson

Hi Mperison...Though I am not a Chargers fan I do have to cheer for the home team, especially in their time of need. Too bad...I was looking forward to extra saucy Super Bowl parties. Speaking of Penn. I am watching "The Office" right now while I am at the office. Ever been to Scranton, PA? haha, such a random question. Thx for the welcome!

No, not yet. We moved here late 2006 from Virginia. My husband is now a retired disabled vet from the Navy. We are now near family, so we do a lot of entertaining. I am so glad I found this site. It has helped me immensely. I even started a 20 week course at a culinary school. Wish you well in San Diego. Mpeirson

Caleb, you'll be amazed by how much you can learn here, and quickly! I'm a home cook who's learned so much here; received affirmation for what I already knew; and gained the courage to try new things. I wish the same to you and every new member.
