Clown New today...

I found this site through a thread...and I am glad I did!!! For quite a while now I have been looking for a proper cooking site that will suit my lifestyle because sometimes I can be home, most times I may not be able to bring my laptop. I love cooking very much, amongst other things that will fit into my activities...and I do cook 6 nights a week, preferably dinner. I also prepare weekly forages for pick-ups and freeze them ready-to-heat for when I cannot cook. Once a week, my dearly beloved husband and I have a date night to either eat out or movies or both.

We have 4 children and 3.5 of them are now grown up and have lives of their own. DH is now retired and dragged me to retire alongside him so we can do anything we want from hereonforward. It sounds nice. Retired. NOT!! sometimes it can be boring...so I just roll around like <---

I think this is all I can say about myself for now...I look forward to interacting with all of you soon.

Cheers,
austramerica

Hello Elizabeth and welcome to Chef Talk. You sound like an avid home cook, so I know you'll enjoy visting here often. We hope you'll explore the various forums, but don't miss the cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, blogs and the photo gallery. The search tool can help you with topics from earlier threads.

I retired from teaching in 2005 after 30 years. Before I took the plunge, I made a list of things I couldn't wait to do; there were six. I barely got through two of them as new things came along that I hadn't expected. Good luck with your plans!

Enjoy being part of the community!
Regards,
Mezzaluna

Thanks for the nice welcome...I really appreciate a good list where I can interact with people of the same mind and interests in some way and vice versa. We all need someone to talk to every now and then and I would love to be able to load photos too of food I cooked and talk of other things here aside from cooking. I have been going around yesterday and I am enjoying the site...it is really nice ...I am looking forward to be friends to many of you.

Cheers,
elizabeth
