Default New here, Old to Cooking! :-)

Hello All! :-)

I am a typical home cook, I try to outdo the professionals, and as such often fall short of this high mark, but my cooking improves.

I enjoy sleuthing favorite restaurant foods; trying to duplicate and improve upon my favorite dishes.

I got stuck with the job of cook by complaining and then proving I could cook better, and have been stuck with the job ever since! roflol! :-@

Several of the men in our family line seem to have the cooking gene, and I and my brother are in a contest to see who can cook up the best pizza and beer. Roundtable King Arthor supreme (combination) would be my pie-in-the-sky in this case.

I have gotten my homebrew up to excellent standards, surpassing the commercially available products, while my pizza pie languishes behind.

Now I am going to get some professional advice! <grin> from my fellows at the Cheif Talk forums!

Eat your heart out, brother mine, the improved pizza is coming through! lol

Glad to make all your acquaintances!

Nimblebee

Thank you for introducing yourself, Nimblebee. I can tell you're a home cook (as I am) who'll be able to learn a lot from reading and interacting here. We have some home brewers and a good many who are in the hunt for perfect pizza crust, so you'll have many members to "talk" with here. I want to point out the search tool we have, because it'll make it easier to find earlier threads on topics like home brewing, etc.

Besides pizza and beer, what are the dishes you're most proud of?

I hope you'll visit and participate as often as you can. We'll look forward to seeing you!

Welcome!
Mezzaluna

Default Many Thanks for Warm Welcome!

Many thanks for the warm welcome!

The food I have been most proud of if my lasagna!
Our always hungry acquaintance "David Mooch-a-meal" said he liked it so much he had two huge pieces-of both the Italian style and American style dishes (where does he put it all?!) Wonder if he is psychic?-always seems to know when it is time to eat!

Using the search tool in the quest for perfect pizza crust, Mezzaluna, is a great tip-in looking through current and past posts. Many thanks for that!

All successful cooks stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before, and much knowledge is passed onwards from others who have learned through experience-no need to reinvent the wheel (although I can't resist tinkering with it! ).

According to my brother in the pizza contest, the heart of the pizza is the crust, while most of my sleuthing needs to concentrate there, improving my sauce is important also.

TTL, onward the quest for perfect pizza!!!

We're glad to help, Nimblebee. This place is a treasure trove for avid home cooks as well as experienced professionals. I hope you'll add your knowledge and experience to the cache, too.
