| Hello All! I am soooooo ready to get my business started as a Personal Chef/Caterer! I live in Ga and right now having problems trying to find a commercial kitchen here--its close to impossible. I think GA is one of the states where you have to have a separate kitchen from your current one. Has anyone had trouble looking online to find out how to get a permit to cook?? They call me the Internet queen and I cannot find any info!! I really would like to know how much the license is going to cost... Anywayzzzzzzzzzzz, I intend on enjoying myself on this website, looks like fun!! |

| Welcome to the party, Chef Tracy! We're glad you took the plunge because now you can look forward to getting answers to your questions- or at least a good idea to move your forward. I would suggest you post your questions in the Professional Catering forum. But I think your answer would be found at the city hall or county courthouse- wherever the health department, which issues permits, would be found. Still- ask those guys, because they'll know! We hope you enjoy being an active member of the community. Welcome! Mezzaluna

| Tracy....your best bet when just starting out...is probably a large church... you can rent the kitchen when its not in use.....the health department will be able to answer all you questions....you should be able to find a church pretty easily....Church kitchens are extremely under utilized.....good luck in sweet Atlanta...... |
