Default Hello!

I'm new to the forum and I'm so excited to have found this site. As a relatively new caterer, I have sooo many questions. I look forward to "talking food" with all of you.
My cooking experience began at my mother’s knee. I am the youngest of 9 children with a large, extended family of relatives and friends. There was always something bubbling on the stove, baking in the oven, or a wedding cake waiting to be decorated.
I am now 44 years young and have been dabbling in catering for about 3 years. I don’t have any formal training but have considered taking some classes now that my 3 kids are in school full time. I have a passion for cooking/baking. I love to feed people! An empty sheet pan calls my name and begs to be filled with some sort of edible creation, be it sweet or savory.
I welcome advice from all of you. Especially anyone who has gotten a late start like me!

Welcome to the community, Cabooseof9. I love your description of how you became immersed in good, home cooking. What a great way to learn to cook and show affection for one's family!

You'll find lots of good advice and information here. The search tool is helpful for sifting through the years of posts and threads on topics (like catering) that you're seeking. Have a look at the cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, blogs and the photo gallery. You'll find a warm and respectful welcome from the professionals and the home cooks in our midst, too, so we hope you visit and participate here often.

Welcome!
Mezzaluna
