Lightbulb Do I belong?

Hello,
Well here goes...I've been reading your posts for a couple of weeks trying to decide if I should register. Being a home cook with no professional experience I wasn't sure, however I do have a passion for cooking. I am a confirmed "foodie" and my cookbook collection is threatening to take over my home. At this time I have no plans to change professions (Kitchen Confidential opened my eyes) however, I do love learning about all aspects of cooking. Lately I’ve been reading more about cooking than actually cooking, my three year old thinks that being in the kitchen with me is the best game of all, makes it hard to get much done but, that’s OK.
Thank you for reading this is my favorite site and I’m looking forward to participating.

Thanks for the welcome.
Danielle, I am in Oregon lived here all my life. I'm near Portland and have been very interested in your posts. Tell me what is your favorite Portland area food haunt? Mine is Elephant Deli I could live on their Northern Italian sandwich.

I love Jake's salmon stuffed with crab and brie, I love Il Fornaio's spinach salad with goatcheese and warm raspberry vinaigrette and I love Oba's soups.
I just plainly love all about Portland to tell you the truth.
Life is great.
Nice meeting you.

OK Oreganites~ what is the name of the wonderful grocery store with incredible go foods across the river next to the huge private cookbook store? FINE!!! There is also a great breakfast diner that you serve yourself coffee from interesting mugs hanging on the wall?
I'll pull my notes on my Portland visit...we can compare.

Welcome, and of course you belong. As you've probably noticed, this site is the place to get questions answered, and answers questioned, which makes it the most useful site for the pros and the home cooks alike. Glad you joined the party!
