Welcome Sousfish, will you be the teacher or someone teaching you? Usually it depends on the student, if they don't no anything about cooking then you would charge hourly. If they have experience, then charge a flat rate.
I taught some housewives for a flat rate, because they had experience in cooking for they're families, you get the picture? I taught a man who just wanted to learn how to cook lobster for his wifes birthday and charged him hourly. 75.00 an hour or 125.00 flat rate.

I charge for individual one on one $75.00 per hour in their home with time limits. For a group or demo 4 people plus, $35.00 per person per hour. This does not included travel time or set up time, so the clock starts when we start working.

I have always had the pleasure of teaching folks with a drive and passion.

I got the idea of demonstrating at showers etc. when I found out what the guy in the Barney suit was getting paid to entertain the kiddies!

Parts of the classes are:

Hands on and demonstration of items chosen by client
demonstration on their home appliances, so they don't have to run out and get the latest thing. or show them how to use that latest thing they just got.
recipes
sources
follow up on information

Everything is negotiable. Always great fun!!
PS, I have been in the business for a good many years so any question that comes up, the client gets answered.

good luck!
