| | Glad To Have Found You Hello,
I'm really looking forward to being part of this forum. I'm no chef, but I am adventurous and love to try new things. I'm not afraid to attempt anything except fish.
I'm afraid I learned everything I know about chefs and professional kitchens from Ratatouille, the animated movie.
I used to decorate cakes as a hobby, but tendonitis has put a stop to much of that. I'll still do something occasionally. I'd never have been fast enough at it to make a living, though. I don't suppose spending 8 hours on one cake would be acceptable in the business world!
I have a blog, newsletter, and website that I include recipes on. Before I post them, I try them out, sometimes more than once if I feel that I need to refine something. I've enjoyed this so far, but I've gained 12 pounds doing it. Something has to change there!
When I'm not trying out new recipes, I love to ballroom dance, raise show rabbits (I've produced over 40 grand champion Holland lops), arrange flowers ("silk"), and spend time with my husband and children (who are also learning to cook). I used to love to garden, but one can only have so many hobbies at one time. I am thinking of bringing back my herb garden, though.
I look forward to meeting many of you and learning lots of wonderful things. |

| | We're glad you found us too, Laurie! Your enthusiasm and adventurousness are assets we value.
I hope you'll have a good look around the site- don't miss the cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, blogs and photo gallery- as if the forums weren't enough! This community is the best one on the web when it comes to making connections among food-lovers, no matter whether they're home cooks or professionals.
Welcome!
Mezzaluna
P.S.- fish don't bite when you cook them.
