Tongue The new chef in town :)

Ok, so I don't really consider myself a chef, but my husband loves everything I cook so I guess I'm not doing to bad.
I am a new cook, I've cooked little stuff here and there when I was living with my folks, but now that I'm married and have my own kitchen and can stock up on anythign I want, I am having fun trying all new recipes.
I am a newly wed, got married on LEAP DAY!!!! of this year
My favorite things to make so far are:
fettucine alfredo with shrimp
monkey pancakes (whole wheat & banana pancakes)
horsepwer waffles (whole wheat & oatmeal waffles)
and pumpkin pie

The one meal I have yet to go wrong on is:
Mac & Cheese with hot dogs. I get the box mac&cheese but I never follow the instructions, I put my own touch to it that everyone seems to love. My hubby likes it better than when his mom makes it and brags to all his friends about it, and my siblings think I make it better than my mom...so I feel pretty good when it comes to that quick and simple dinner
I look forward to learning from all you chefs!

Hello Erdnuss and welcome to Chef Talk. It's great to hear you're experimenting and stretching your horizons. There's a lot of good information here and thousands of members to share with and learn from.

Besides the forums we have cooking articles, cookbook reviews, recipes, a photo gallery and blogs. We also have a great search tool. Using it can help you find articles and conversation threads on every topic- for instance, if you decide to go to the next level with macaroni and cheese, you can search for that and read tons of recipes from simple to glamorous- tastier and healthier than the boxed stuff. The forums are a treasure trove! (By the way, home cooks like you and I are encouraged to read in all the forums, but to please consider the Professionals' forums "read only".)

We hope you visit often and participate in the discussions, too! We'll look forward to seeing you here.

Welcome,
Mezzaluna
