Post United States Personal Chef Association?

Hi everybody

I need advice on this organization called
( United States Personal chef Assoc.), I saw
their ad and I might say it sounds very tempting. They offer a 5 day 50hour course in
becoming a Personal Chef and creating your
own business that makes a good income.

since I'm looking for a career change, can anybody guide me and advise me, as to weather or not this is legit.

just remember , I'm still a pre-novice just
looking for some info to help me decide on
what path I should take.

please reply,thanks

I am not a food professional but I find it hard to believe that any organization can teach you to be a chef in 50 hours. Basic training usually lasts between 6-9 months. If you are in New York City, there are 3 such schools that I know of; Peter Kump's, French Culinary Institute and New York Restaurant. After you graduate from one of these programs you can expect to sart working long hours for moderate compensation. It is that reality that keeps me a rank amateur

If you want to learn more about Peter Kump's I can point you to a great source.

Yawn

The United States Personal Chef Association will teach you how to build and run a personal chef business, you don't need to be a culinary master to do this; all you need to do this is basic knowledge of cooking techniques...now if you wish to invest several thousand dollars and six months of your time then you can enroll in places like French Culinary or Peter Kumps or CIA, although you'll get a nice education in culinary arts you'll still need to get real experience in commercial kitchens if you wish to follow this path.good luck
