| Hello everyone, I am a 49(soon to be 50) yr old nurse from Texas.I have been cooking since I was 6.Well my mother let me help with a box cake mix and I poured my share into a mini loaf pan and colored it with blue food coloring for my daddy.(he ate it all) Fortunately I've graduated from the box to scratch. Anyway I was happy to find this forum. I love to cook and grow my own herbs to use in my cooking. I know I will learn alot and look forward to "cooking"with everyone. |

| Hello herbgrower and welcome to Chef Talk. We have something in common: my first baking effort was a yellow cake baked in a "toy" pan (mine was round). I plasted it with blue frosting and wrote "Happy Birthday Daddy" in orange icing. Dad ate every bite. His mouth was still blue-tinged the next day. I hope you enjoy being part of this community and contributing to the site, too. Do you also dry or otherwise preserve your herbs? Welcome! Mezzaluna
