Default Hello there

Let's introduce myself since i'm sure I'll stick around here. My name is Dominique and live in the Netherlands. 23 y/o, still in college(Msc of real estate) and living on my own with two roommates. Everyone cooks so I only cook two times a week.

Found this site when I was investigating what fry pans to buy. Ended up with two carbon steel ones, a ss one and a non stick one. This site helped me a lot. All info is great, but i found out that many brands are not available in the netherlands...
Next purchase some quality knives and sharpener. Good some ikea quality knives at the moment.

Anyway, I love to cook and bbq. Sure I will learn a lot over here.

Hello Domi and welcome to the Chef Talk community! I'm pleased to hear that you've already benefited from visiting here. I'm sure you have information that will be helpful to others, so we'll look forward to your participation.

What do you enjoy cooking? I have friends in the Netherlands and have visited a couple of times. I recall eating some Indonesian dishes (curries, croquettes) as well as eating french fries with mayonnaise for the first time in 1969. That seemed strange to me, an American accustomed to eating tomato ketchup with potatoes. How much I've learned since then!

I hope you explore the site and add to the discussions. Welcome!
Mezzaluna

Tnx for your welcome. I'm sure i can participate aswell. Testing my non stick pan at the moment. It has a ceramic coating named themolon, little to no info on this site about that. I'll let you all know how that turns out.

I'm still a starter and try to achieve perfection in traditional dutch dinners. Meat, potatoes and vegetables. Have to starts somewhere.
I'm not a fan of complicated stuff with dosens of ingredients. Also not a fan of asian dishes however i like to eat them now and then.
