| New but not new ... Hi everyone- I'm Nicko's wife, Colleen, and have been coming to this site for the past 2 years. But, after having spent an evening at dinner with a few of the moderators of this site, I realize how little I know about the culinary field and about the Cheftalk Boards! : ) [ May 21, 2001: Message edited by: Nicko's better(?) half ] |

| Yes, it definitely is a never - ending learning process - especially when you are at the beginning! I would love to impress my in-laws with a Greek dish - but I need something easy! Any ideas, anyone??? Much appreciated. |

| Hi Colleen, I'm glad you joined us! Hehe, the first thing that came into my mind when I saw your nickname, Nicko's better(?) half was that Nicko probably has a twin! hehe Well, anyway, welcome to the Cafe and I look forward to your postings! ![]()

| Hi, Colleen! It was wonderful to meet you last evening. An idea for your in-laws might be spoon sweets a pastry of some kind, like theples. But I guess you have a great resource in Nicko!

| Thanks for your warm welcome, everyone - it's great to meet you all. Pasta Chef, you seem pretty well versed with the Cheftalk Boards! Mezzaluna, thanks for the tip. I do have a great resource in Nicko, but I like to cook when he's not there & try to impress him with things I learn on my own! I will check out theples - we have a Greek cookbook at home but it just looks so intimidating, I didn't know where to begin! |

| Welcome Colleen so nice to meet you. I can't help with the Greek supper but if you ever want to prepare a Japanese dinner... Hey maybe that would really impress the in-laws. ![]()

| Wow! All this time I can't believe I've been missing out on such a friendly crowd. Thanks for your greetings, I really appreciate it. The Japanese dinner sounds really cool- I just bought a set of Asian dinnerware for Nicko for Christmas that needs to be put to use! What's your dinner suggestion? By the way, Greg, I went to college in St. Paul from 1989-93. Are you a chef there, and if so, which restaurant? |
