Yawn I AM THE NEW PERSON HERE

What a great site. It is wonderful to find so many people with the same interest. I too, have changed careers. After going back to school for my BA in Elelmentary Education, I taught school for a few years. We traveled to the United Kingdom for three years(husband in military) and returned to US only to decide that I wanted something more. Cooking has alsways been my passion. I started cooking when I was 4 years old. My Italian heritage has given me the love of food. I am also starting to learn Italian on my own.

Right now I have chosen to work as a personal chef. My business is very slow right now, as my funds are limited. Building a clientele is difficult. But I am determined.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Mad

It's lovely to find so many people who have trained or done something else before choosing the culinary arts, like myself. I left school here in New Zealand, did my Batchelor of Arts, trained as a primary school teacher: But I hated all that and decided to do something I really love for once in my life. I hope you have just as much fun as I'm having

No Smile

Lovesherfood, thank you for the wonderful note. I thought that studying for my teaching certificate is what I wanted, but I am very happy here in the culinary arts. Wish that I had the time to train some in the United Kingdom while we were posted there. Hope all is well in New Zealand.
