What a great forum! I'm very excited to get to know some of you.
I am very amateur at cooking, but I started a monthly cooking class to show some basics for cooking at home and sprucing up dinnertime. We mainly look for new recipes that we wouldn't dare try to do ourselves and make them at the group. It's been great! We recently put up a blog and I would love to write about some things that might help out those who struggle at dinnertime. So, that is why I'm here, to learn and meet new people!

Chef Talk is a great place for home cooks like you and me to learn from each other and from the professionals. We have special guests here, too: Gale Gand, Rick Bayless, Harold McGee and many more. In fact, Sara Moulton will join us for another one of our discussions July 15-17. Watch for the questions forum to open up; post your question to her and visit here to see her answer to your question.

While the professionals' forums are "read only" for us home cooks, don't overlook them as a rich source of information and insights. We also have excellent cooking articles, lots of blogs, photo gallery and much more. The search tool will help you find things more efficiently.
