Default greetings from boston

first post

i grow flowers for a living, but am an adventerous home cook

except for cheerios, i rarely buy prepared food

i make a lot of different cuisines

i discovered this web site by googling "savory ice cream recipes"

tonight's dinner was fresh linguini (store bought this time though i often make my own) tossed with an egg, a splash of heavy cream, parm reggiano, s&P, some mushrooms sauteed in home made cultured butter, and a few slices of leftover fajita loin flap

the salad was watermelon, fresh basil chiffonade, balsamic vinegar, and a few blobs of goat cheese (my wife doesn't like feta)

i believe good food is simple food, but am willing to tackle anything if i think it will be worth the effort

i have been making ice creams and sherberts lately

and lime rickeys

i love lime rickeys

Hello - and welcome to ChefTalk!

As you will see, we have all levels of culiinary skills on the site, from enthusiastic amateurs (like me!) to masterchefs, and all shades in between.

I hope you will enjoy reading some of the great articles and blogs - and look at the amazing photography on here, too. There's something for all tastes.

All we ask is that as a non-professional, you do not post in the professional fora - but I enjoy reading them, and have gained some real insights on subjects I'd never really thought about!
