Hello! Welcome to the ChefTalk.com community. Whether you are "browsing" our educational articles or discussing issues in "The Cafe" discussion forums, we are glad to have you here. To ensure that you have a positive experience, please take a moment to read though the following guidelines. By abiding by them, we can all enjoy interaction with others "at the Cafe."

Think before you post. Remember that what you write will be read by hundreds of people, from children to parents, so please watch what you say. Avoid using inappropriate words or phrases if you wouldn't say it at home, don't say it here!

Respect others. Being a community with a positive outlook, we ask that you refrain from rude or offensive behavior. ChefTalk.com will remove posts that are harassing, abusive, defamatory, sexually explicit, or obscene.

Feel free to disagree. If you don't agree with something another member posts, feel free to say so just do it politely and constructively.

Stick to the topic. Take a look through the various forum topics and post your message in the place that is most appropriate. This way your post will reach the people most interested in your topic and you'll get a better response. (For example, you won't find much about Recipes in the Restaurant Reviews Forum!)

Obey the law. Any comments promoting illegal activities or violation of copyrights and trademarks are forbidden. In other words do not post copyrighted material, you may post a link to the article but not the entire article. (We just might throw you in the Stock Pot if you do!)

We reserve the right to edit... ChefTalk.com has the right to reprint, modify, distribute or delete your posting. We don't preview or edit postings before they appear on our site, but we do reserve the right to remove them if they violate these guidelines.

...And the right to ban. We reserve the right to remove people who violate these guidelines from the ChefTalk.com community.

Don't try to sell anything. (This isn't your personal storefront, after all). Please respect this policy by not posting ads or trying to promote your business in our community. If you do want to contact others regarding services, please e-mail them directly.

Watch where you link. You are more than welcome to share e-mail addresses and websites in your messages, but links to questionable destinations will be removed. Again, if such content would not be discussed at Home, then please avoid it.

Not all info may be true. Hard to believe, isn't it? But despite what you may have heard, many things users post simply are not true. In any case, we bear no responsibility for the accuracy of the information posted within the discussion forums.

Top secret...to a point. We at ChefTalk.com reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint of legal action arising from any message posted by you. (So, just behave yourself!)

Yeah, you knew this already, but we thought we'd let you know that messages in the discussion forums may not necessarily reflect the views of ChefTalk.com or any entity associated with ChefTalk. By agreeing to use these forums, you hold harmless ChefTalk.com, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited (developers of vBulletin), or any associated parties with regards to transmission of messages you post.
