Pros: 400, recipes, tips and hints galore
I highly recommend this book for anyone who either is just getting into home canning or for someone who has been canning for years. In addition to the updated canning times and methods, this book offers 400 mouthwatering recipes to tempt you. There are the common recipes that most home canners are looking for as well as some new rather exotic ones that most “old time” canners may not have tried. Harissa Sauce is one I had never heard of in the home canning circles. It is, for those of you who may not have heard of it either, a Moroccan condiment.
This book is full of wonderful tips and recommendations as well, and as most of the seasoned home canners can tell you those come in handy for the beginner as well at the professional. There is even a section on the Art and Science of Home Food Preservation.
Even if you don’t preserve items for future use I would say the recipes contained in this book are well worth the read.
Definitely one of my all time favorites.
