I kept jumping back and forth from the 5 qt artisan, 6qt professional, and the 7qt professional, and even considered the cuisinart. I lierally spent 5 years researching and debating this since I felt guilty spending so much money on one kitchen appliance. I am so so happy with my 7qt mixer... I would marry it if I wasnt already married. It is beautiful and takes up the same amount of space on the counter as the rest since you shouldnt have everything touching on the counter anyway. It doesnt even flinch with 3 batches of bread or 4 batches of cookies... If your debating, go with the 7qt... you wont ever be sorry to have the extra capacity
