Well built workhorse
Pros: Durable, even heat distribution and retention
Cons: Maintenance, weight
I received this skillet as a wedding gift more than 20 years ago. I assume current manufacturing materials and techniques of this item is the same today as it was then. Anyhow, this is a kitchen workhorse. My wife and I use it to cook many dishes, from eggs to crepes to braises. It can go under the oven broiler or over high heat on the stove. It is indestructible. Once it became well seasoned, it was almost completely non-stick. I expect it will last long enough for one of our children to inherit it. The two flaws are part of cast iron ownership; it is very heavy (short handle exaggerates the heft) and cleanup/maintenance may be greater than other types of cookware material. Regardless, I use it regularly and will continue to use it. Great product.
