I was hooked with a MAC santoku about 10 years ago but traded up for this because I don't like the santoku shape.  It is the only knife I use 95% of the time! Holds a scary shape edge forever.  I touch it up on the fine wheel of a Chefs Choice Manual 4643 Sharpener (also highly recommended) occasionally and a 10 inch black MAC ceramic honing rod.  
Be sure to wash and dry immediately after use.  I have developed a few small black pits    one or two deep nicks in the edge I had  to grind out because of wet salt on the blade.
