beans of vanilla

A few days ago,I added two beans of vanilla in my rice pudding.
Then I threw them.
Nevertheless I was told that beans of vanilla can be used several
times.
Is it true?

Yes!

We rinse them off, put them back in their little "eprouvette", and fill it with eau de vie - vodka would probably work too. That way you can use both the extract and the bean again.

I really could not have thought of eau de vie or vodka.
